I am excited to offer Yoga and Mindful Movement sessions as a new member of the Balans Team! In our sessions together you will cultivate a stronger and more dynamic connection to your whole, 360-degree self through integrating yoga postures, mindfulness, breathing techniques, concentration practices, and functional anatomy-based exercises. And of course…

flexibility, strength, balance, adaptability, coordination, compassion, joy, focus, relaxation and fun

…are natural byproducts of each session as well!

If you’re a new student looking for an introduction to yoga or a more experienced student seeking specific instruction to grow an existing yoga practice I am happy to work with you. If you’ve never done yoga privately, it is very different from group yoga. You’ll be able to ask questions along the way, and we’ll be able to stop and explore issues as they arise.

How we do anything is how we do everything, and much of the time we don’t realize what we are doing at all! Said another way: to become more aware of our actions and thoughts is to become more attentive to how we treat ourselves and treat others.  How we relate to ourselves and others reflects our ability to react appropriately to situations, how we handle emotions, and how we react to physical sensations such as pain. This concept is a thread that knits itself through each session I teach. By growing your capacity for self-awareness in our sessions my hope is that you can take aspects of what you learn  into other areas of your life, both inside and outside of Balans!
